Local Outreach

We desire to be a faith community that is recognized for having a heart like Jesus for our local community. In addition to volunteering services at these agencies, we also provide donations of requested goods. Where is God calling you to serve in Jesus' name?
CareNet Pregnancy Center demonstrates the love of Christ to those facing a crisis pregnancy through the provision of spiritual, physical, emotional, and educational support at no cost to the client, and by sharing the gospel message. CareNet is committed to upholding the truth that God creates human life in His image at conception. Volunteers are needed to provide counseling, teaching, men's mentoring, post-abortion counseling, and office help. Ongoing collection needs include maternity and baby clothing, diapers, and formula. Also needed are volunteers at their monthly "Second Saturday Workday" where the facility is cleaned, organized, painted, etc. CareNet Website »
Life Center for the Homeless is a shelter located near downtown Houston at 4516 Old Yale, 77018. It provides food, clothing, drug and alcohol counseling, and most importantly, spiritual guidance. St. Timothy is actively involved with assisting its founder and director, Pastor Winston James, with many aspects of this non-profit organization, including bi-monthly Bible study visits with the residents and working on facility improvements. Lutheran Intercity Network Coalition (LINC) is a combined effort of local churches to plant, nurture, and equip groups of new believers among Houston's culturally unique communities. St. Timothy's involvement includes being home to Manantiales de Vida (a Spanish speaking ministry), providing teachers for the ESL program, and hosting a Christmas toy drive. LINC Website »
Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) is a nondenominational agency that provides emergency assistance, counseling, shelter, and food to people in northwest Houston. Volunteers are needed in NAM's resale shops, food pantry, driving for Meals on Wheels, and office help. NAM Website »
Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) offers Christian assistance to working homeless families. St. Timothy, on a quarterly basis, provides evening or overnight hosts at the church that houses the families, as well as their evening meal.
Habitat for Humanity builds homes alongside individuals that would otherwise not be able to afford one. We participate in Habitat building days several times a year in cooperation with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Watch for our next Habitat workdate and enjoy the company of other volunteers as we paint, lay tile, hang sheetrock, and raise the roof. Contact the church office for more specific directions.
